Is he a head case?

article-2357784-1AB151DA000005DC-434_634x428

A bit of a drastic way to stop himself smoking, but a 42 yr old man in Turkey has had a cage made for his head to stop him smoking throughout the day. His father died of lung cancer and he’s desperate to stop himself smoking. Apparently he’s failed to quit a few times, he obviously hasn’t tried hypnotherapy!

Testimonial from Stop Smoking client

Recent testimonial from Ed Lusk who saw me for a Stop Smoking Session “Just a quick message to thank you for changing my life! It has now been just over a year since you helped me stop smoking and I am pleased to say I have not had a cigarette since. I am now heartily recommending hypnotherapy for smoking cessation to anyone who will listen”.

New Stop Smoking Government Campaign

The Department of Health have kick started their 2013 stop smoking campaign with a rather graphic illustration suggesting your body creates a mutation with every 15 cigarettes you smoke. Mutations can happen by chance when new cells are made as part of normal development or they can be caused by things such as the chemicals in cigarettes that damage the DNA.

The problem is that smokers tend to underestimate their risk and also think of the risks and benefits as being far in the future. This campaign has been designed to show smokers how every extra cigarette adds to the risk of cancer. To watch the video (it is rather gruesome but should hit home the dangers) click on this link.

New research – Quit smoking now to avoid the risks

Women who give up smoking by the age of 30 will almost completely avoid the risks of dying early from tobacco-related diseases, according to a study of more than a million women in the UK.

The results showed lifelong smokers died a decade earlier than those who never started. But those who stopped by 30 lost, on average, a month of life and if they stopped by 40 they died a year younger. How did hypnotherapy become so popular?

You have probably heard of hypnotherapy, particularly if you smoke, as it is a really popular way of trying to help you stop. There is, however, a lot more to hypnosis than just stopping smoking read on to find out more …

Hypnotherapy has been around for centuries but it was probably Paul McKenna who really helped to make it more widely known and accepted. You may recall how he began as an entertaining stage hypnotist where people did funny things. Today he uses his talents to improve and enhance people’s lives and careers. If you want to change something in your life hypnotherapy could work for you.

Believe it or not, you probably already know what it feels like to be hypnotised. I am sure you have at some time drifted into a light trance like state where your mind seems to wander. Remember those times when you have driven somewhere familiar and when you get to your destination you cannot recall the whole journey? Your subconscious was working on auto-pilot while your conscious mind was thinking about something else entirely.

Hypnotherapy works by enabling the subconscious mind to be more receptive and open to ideas helping you to change your thinking and achieve your goals more easily. You will be surprised just how easily more positive behaviours can be achieved.

Hypnotherapy can work on short term or long term goals. Those horrendous exam nerves can be calmed as can your ability to lose weight and give you back your confidence. Even fears or phobias can be treated and it is gaining popularity for pain relief in childbirth. Hypnotherapy can work on anyone from about 7 years of age and over.

Whether you are a sports person wanting to improve your game and mental attitude or simply wanting to quit smoking or lose weight then hypnotherapy could be the perfect solution. Consultations are free of charge, give me a call to find out more. 07990 521266 www.thehypnopractice.com

Midwife delivers her own baby at home

Click on the picture to read the recent newspaper article regarding a midwife who had her first baby at home with no medical assistance during the birth. Claire’s first baby was 3 weeks early but instead of panicking she did what she’d probably done hundreds of times before and delivered the baby, only this time it was on her own baby!

Having the right frame of mind during childbirth has an enormous impact on how the labour will progress. Claire is testament to this as presumably she trusted herself and had faith that she could do what nature intended her to.
