Hypnotherapy
can help you with childbirth fears and
worries before the birth and allow you to feel more in
control during labour itself. A programme of 4 sessions incorporates positive
visualisation and suggestions whilst in hypnosis to encourage relaxation
and alter your perception of the birth. Expectant mums are also taught
self hypnosis techniques – easier to master than you may think!
To support the process 4 CD’s are provided for a calmer childbirth
experience. If you have left it late in your pregnancy to consider the
option of hypnotherapy and do not have time to schedule the whole programme
of sessions before your baby’s birth, then even one or two sessions
of the relaxed childbirth programme will be of benefit to you.
Partners
are encouraged to be part of the Relaxed Childbirth programme whereby
they can attend one of the sessions for joint relaxation helping them
to feel part of the process (as often fathers feel excluded or of no help
during labour). An extra session can be added on if need be to deal with
any of the partner’s personal fears or worries.
